The Monterey Academy of Oceanographic Science (MAOS) brings innovation to public education. Founded in 1994 at MAOS was designed by experienced teachers who saw the need for a challenging curriculum within the public school system, for students with a desire and ability to excel.
Teaching Honors
MAOS instructors have received the following awards: Griffin award (4), Rotary award (2), Sigma Xi award (2), and many instructors have been honored as mentor teachers.
