The Monterey Academy of Oceanographic Science (MAOS) is a college prep academy with a "school within a school" spirit. Students experience an integrated curriculum and "learn by doing" with hands-on labs, field trips and guest speakers. MAOS was founded in 1994 by experienced teachers who saw the need for a challenging curriculum within the public school system for students with a desire and ability to excel.
