Student Behavior Expectations

The following behaviors that will result in disciplinary actions from The Monterey Academy of Oceanographic Science program, include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Defacement, tampering, and/or destruction of peer, teacher, school, or MAOS property 

  • Defacement, tampering, and/or destruction of any property on a MAOS field trip or sponsored event

  • Classroom misbehavior and/or misconduct 

  • Theft

  • Bullying, harassment, and/or intimidation of peers 

  • Disrespectful behavior in the classroom, on campus, or on field trips 

  • Willfully harming or attempting to harm other students or property (e.g., taking classmates work, throwing objects, physical intimidation)

  • Repeated violations of classroom and/or school rules and/or behavior expectations

  • Any Educational Code 48915 violations

The Monterey Academy of Oceanographic Science takes these matters very seriously and is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment for all students.
